SOMIC Innovation Event in Nuremberg
Insights into the Packaging Technology of Tomorrow
Amerang/Nuremberg, September 29, 2025 – For the first time, SOMIC Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG from Amerang invited customers, suppliers, and partners to an exclusive Innovation Event in Nuremberg. The aim of the event was to strengthen close communication with partners and provide an exclusive insight into SOMIC’s work. The focus was on research & development as well as intensive discussions about forward-looking packaging technologies.
At various exhibition stands, colleagues from the engineering teams presented current projects and ideas. Guests were able to experience first-hand the work SOMIC is passionately engaged in – from new concepts and technical solutions to exciting future projects. The direct dialogue was particularly appreciated: the developers answered questions, explained backgrounds, and provided fascinating insights into the creation of innovative packaging solutions.
These insights were complemented by engaging keynotes on tomorrow’s technologies and trends. Two renowned experts enriched the program with forward-looking impulses. Dr. Myléne Haslehner, a former member of SOMIC’s R&D department, provided valuable insights into the development and future of artificial intelligence, highlighting both its opportunities for industrial automation and the associated risks.
Futurologist and author Oliver Leisse illustrated how current developments in consumer behavior and the retail sector are being transformed through the use of AI. His analyses highlighted the potential of the technology, as well as the challenges it entails – particularly regarding consumer trends and their impact on the retail industry. The event concluded with an entertaining evening program and culinary highlights.

The SOMIC Innovation Event also served as a preview of interpack 2026, where the company will present several exciting new innovations. The event thus provided not only a platform for exchange and inspiration but also a first look at what customers can expect in the coming year – innovative solutions that will continue to drive progress in packaging technology.
