Company history

Vision and innovation – leading us into the future

1974

SOMIC is founded in Vogtareuth in Upper Bavaria, initially producing special machines, transport systems and soon thereafter packaging machines.

1978

4 years later, SOMIC moves into its first own company building in Wasserburg am Inn. Case erectors and insertion packers are designed and manufactured, which developed the basis of the SOMIC core business.

1986

The first complete packaging lines are developed, initially with a focus on the cheese industry. But the portfolio soon expands to include a variety of other sectors.

1994

SOMIC now specialises exclusively in machines developed for the end-of-line packaging process, starting with tea, coffee, chocolate, snacks and pet food. We continuously expand the range of processed products.
