The RSC carton (Regular Slotted Case), also known as an American case, is the most widely used folding-carton type worldwide. It consists of a pre-glued die-cut carton blank with four side walls and closure flaps at the top and bottom. For packaging, the double-layered, flat carton blank is erected, the pre-packed products are inserted and the flaps are sealed with hot-melt adhesive.
The RSC carton differs from the wraparound case in its construction: whereas with the wraparound case a flat, unglued blank is folded around the products, the RSC is already pre-folded and pre-glued. This makes it particularly compatible with standardized logistics processes and palletizing systems.

The SOMIC 202 is the specialized solution for RSC cartons. It can optionally process tray and wraparound cases. The SOMIC 323 and SOMIC 434 are specialized for tray, wraparound and two-piece packaging and are not designed for RSC cartons.
For RSC cartons, robust corrugated cardboard packaging is typically used that meets the requirements for transport packaging.
