SOMIC at interpack 2026 - Packaging solutions for every performance class
Three generations for every requirement
At interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, Somic Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG showcased a broad spectrum of solutions: from entry-level automated end-of-line packaging to high-performance systems, the Bavarian company unveiled three new machine generations. Key purchasing criteria remain unchanged: preferred carton style, required format range, line speed, and the future viability of the customer’s packaging strategy.
Cartoning machine for standard packaging tasks: SOMIC 202
With the new SOMIC 202, the manufacturer targets companies taking their first steps into automated shelf-ready packaging. The compact standard model processes either RSC cartons or flat blanks. Robust mechanics enable up to 20 packs per minute, with the carton blanks conveyed by chain. Proven technology meets modern control systems and intuitive operation.
Flexible all-rounder: SOMIC 323
For operations needing greater format diversity, the SOMIC 323 is the answer. The system handles up to ten formats, feeds carton blanks via vacuum, and achieves roughly 20 cartons per minute. Tray, wraparound, or cover/tray applications can be implemented economically thanks to a one-piece frame, compact design, and predefined changeover positions. Format changes are manual—ideal when they are not required multiple times a day.
Pure high performance: SOMIC 434
At the top end of the range, the SOMIC 434 sets new standards: up to 60 cycles per minute and an almost unlimited number of formats deliver maximum output and flexibility. Automatic format changeovers allow multiple switches per shift without efficiency losses. The unit on show in Düsseldorf was complemented by the SOMIC CoboLoad system, which uses a cobot to load carton blanks into the magazine automatically—without safety fencing and with minimal footprint.
Service and digital support
Rapid assistance is essential when high output is at stake. The SOMIC Eagle camera system monitors all key machine areas and, via the SOMIC Connect platform, provides image sequences to in-house technicians or the SOMIC service team. At the show, the company also highlighted traditional services—spare parts, training, and machine upgrades—alongside new digital services for remote support.
Conclusion
With more than 50 years of industry experience, SOMIC underlines its commitment to offering the right end-of-line packaging solution for every performance tier. The new 202, 323, and 434 models cover the entire spectrum from entry-level to high-performance applications, prioritising durability, precision, and resource-efficient technology. Headquartered in Bavaria and operating subsidiaries in the USA and Thailand, the packaging machinery specialist combines global presence with close customer proximity.
