SOMIC supports network to promote young talent in STEM professions

In order to inspire and promote young female talent in the STEM fields, the TH Rosenheim has launched the MINTnetz18+ network. Together with schools and companies from the region, the MINT subjects (MINT = mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) are to be brought closer to female students. The recently launched empowerMINT program shows talented girls what courses of study and careers are possible in these fields. SOMIC is a partner here and supports the newly established network.

A total of 26 young talents aged 16 and 17 from schools in the Southeast Bavarian region are participating in the pilot project. As part of the program, the schoolgirls are given insights into various companies. In addition, events are offered at the TH Rosenheim as well as online meetings that focus on STEM content and experiments. On Friday, July 7, the kick-off event took place at the TH Rosenheim. In the context of this event, SOMIC was able to present itself and welcome the schoolgirls at their own experiment station.

We are happy to be part of the exciting project MINTnetz18+ of the Technical University of Rosenheim and to accompany young women on their way into MINT professions. For more information on the MINTnetz18+ network, visit www.th-rosenheim.de
